Is it normal that i can taste eye drops
Citric acid is an ingredient in many chewing gums, and the acids in citrus can work as a palate cleanser. Drink water frequently to flush out any remaining eye drop solution. Try a squeeze of lemon in your water or a sprig of mint, which is also an excellent palate cleanser. Be vigilant with your oral hygiene during this time. Read the instructions on medications carefully, and speak to your doctor if you have any questions.

If you feel along the side of your nose, by the corner of your eye, you will feel a depression, or groove, running down the side of your nose. If you press against your nose right there, you will close the drain. So, to stop tasting your eye drops, you just press there as you put the drop in your eye. Hold the pressure on the side of your nose for 30 seconds as you close your eye and let the medication soak into your eye where it belongs.
Then release the pressure, wipe your eye with a tissue, and none of the medication will go into your nose and throat where you can taste it! Learning to do this when you put in your eye drops can be important for another reason, too. If the child is very distressed and if it is the only way you can administer the drop, there is another option.
However, this does not work so well; therefore, only use it as a last resort. Lay the child on their back with their eyes closed. Allow the drop to fall on the skin just next to the inner corner of the eye by the nose.
As the child opens their eyes, some of the drop should enter the eye.
