Can you spot uv uncoated paper

So let's say you have an A5 job and you want to Spot UV the title and the pictures on the outer front cover. This allows it to be clearly indicated as the varnish. Now, create a mask for all the elements you want to UV and position the mask in exactly the right position over the main artwork. Then fill the mask with your new spot colour. One final note is that it is a good idea for you to check and approve some kind of proof for the UV.

By all means, if you have ANY questions or comments on this topic, please do let me know. Likewise, if you would like samples or further advice, please get in touch and I will be pleased to help.

The porosity of uncoated paper enhances the penetration of varnish into the paper, destroying the visual effect. Therefore, multiple layers are needed. The first layer [aqueous] primer provides a barrier, and the top layer will be the actual varnish. This results in a shiny, long-lasting finish, with a slightly raised texture.

It is free from colour but is often used to subtly accentuate a particular element of design. This could be text or a logo. You may have come across it on business stationery, like Business Cards or on book covers.

The great thing about our new special finishes, like Spot UV printing, are that anyone can use them! Just get in touch with them by phone, every weekday 8.
