Who is better telus or shaw

It appears that now, more than a year later, they still do not offer a time shifted high definition PBS channel. My only regret is that I didn't make the switch to Telus sooner. I'm impressed with the Guide and some offerings in 4K, which makes sense because 4K sets are flying off the shelves in stores, and that will only increase toward Christmas and with Boxing Day sales.

I have noticed that the channel changing is lighting fast on the wireless boxes, but its laggy on the PVR box. I think I read somewhere that a firmware update recently bogged it down??? Overall I am very pleased with the Optik TV platform and how things are laid out. The learning curve wasn't as steep as I thought, and I would recommend Optik to friends and family.

It was convenient to have a time display. When setting up a series recording, it defaults to "new and repeats". There is no master setting so you need to go into every new series recording and change this manually. Three of the four tvs are hardwired via Cat6, and one is on wifi.

So if you do any cloud based things, streaming, gaming essentially anything where your putting information back on the internet Shaw sucks. That gets me internet which was just upgraded to as well as basic channels. Telus usually has the faster plans and occasionally better pricing but when it comes to customer service and the overall business model I choose Shaw everyday.

Telus sends out their con artist sales people door to door, to prey on typically older folks, promising them better service than they have at a better price usually before even knowing what kind of plan that person is currently on.

Once they get your signature and they won't leave your door without a signature - good luck getting them to leave info so you can do your own research, they won't , you usually find out months later that there was some "key" detail that sales person left out. But too late, you're on a 2 year contract now! If you can live with a company that preys on seniors amongst other people with tactics like I described above, then by all means choose Telus.

Just hope that you never have to call one of their customer service centers. They have no concept of customer loyalty. Whether you're a 10 year customer or just signed your contract, prepare to be treated like crap.

I get so frustrated when I call customer service not naming specific companies, just in general and the call centre is in another country and you cannot understand half of what they are saying. They are not alone; customer service has declined drastically in general across the board. Try to get through to Westjet! I finally cancelled it online and they only gave me a credit.
