Though no Pet Sound, this album, at its best so wistfully reliving out golden yesterdays, ranks up there with Today!

All this publication's reviews. Beats Per Minute. The album as a whole isn't flawless, yet by sounding utterly enchanting during its climax it leaves a listener feeling genuinely touched. From a such legendary band, you could ask for nothing more.

Los Angeles Times. Though uneven, the group's 29th studio work including 's "The Smile Sessions" contains a number of elegant, shockingly beautiful moments that not only do justice to and expand on the sound of Southern California in the s but serve as a bittersweet and at times heartbreakingly brilliant coda to five decades in music. Why she isn't as big as Gaga or T-Swift is beyond me This album sounds amazing.

Definite recommendation. Such a great album. I'm so impressed by her music. Love me wrong , june gloom and madame X steal the show for me. I was tired of listening to main pop artists so I decided to look for something fresh to add to my playlist. I suddenly saw that Australian singer Troye Sivan had collaborated with a female singer whose existence I was somehow ignoring.

That's how I came against Allie X and how this project blew my mind. The album has a I was tired of listening to main pop artists so I decided to look for something fresh to add to my playlist. The album has a cinematographic atmosphere that reminds me of the sound Lana del Rey had back in the day or Fleurie's; that's a compliment, tho. Even though I enjoy a lot this kind of sound, the album sounds a little bit monotonous to me. I don't know, maybe I need to listen to it once again.

What I've enjoyed the most has been the lyrics. Allie's messages are smart and relatable and its production is exquisite. To sum up, I have enjoyed "Cape God" very much since it presents us a strong empowered woman who is not afraid to innovate and expose herself who is able to make a record filled with crying-dancy tracks. It that a thing? Well, now it is. I am grateful to have discovered this young and fresh promise of indie-pop-alternative music. I am looking forward to hearing what she has to offer us.

I will definitely recommend it to all my friends! There are quality pop songs on here. I wish Allie showed more of her range like that throughout the whole album. This could have been her "Titanic Rising" Weyes Blood but some of the tracks here are not as in-depth that everybody is hyping about.

There are different styles she toys with but some fall flat, especially "Life of the Party. Ha logrado traer un sonido bastante fresco, muy variado con letras bastante profundas y personales, sin duda un inperdible de este con joyas como 'Regulars', 'Rings a Bell', 'Love Me Wrong', y 'Madame X' Gratamente sorprendido.

Allie x you are stronger than you know. Love the songs. It says more about personal transformation. Fresh laundry, Devil I know are just some amazing songs. You'll love the elecrtro pop vibes. This album is a masterpiece. Absolutely amazing.

Not one bad song on this album. Someone get and AOTY for her! This album is pure excellence. She manages to float between radio hits and out-there indie jams while maintaining consistency and a skip-less tracklist. One of my all-time favorite albums, she gave every other indie and pop artist a run for their money.

This album blew my mind away, especially all the singles. Susie Save Your Love was unexpected but incredible. The lyrics, the product and the messages. This album is just absolutely insane, Allie X has really topped herself with Cape God.

Top notch songwriting on a perfect pop album. No mainstream radio darling is pumping out pop tunes like Allie X. For fans of clever and meaningful songwriting and fun pop moments, this album is a must listen and listen, and listen, and listen! The whole album is my favourite. It's something completely different from what we have already heard from X, fresher, cool but feels raw sometimes. Still a nice journey to go through in a time of quietness. Really really good production, combined with amazing songwriting and of course her beautiful singing.

Every single song is sooo good! Her best album yet, Allie X delivers Cape God on a strong and darkly whimsical experience. She forms an honest and emotionally true body of work that becomes an advantage to her on tracks like Love Me Wrong and Fresh Laundry. My expectations were low. Suffering through the debacle that was Summer In Paradise, a horrible shlock-filled effort that even makes the band's most hardcore fans shudder, more of the same would evolve and envelope this album as well.

Turns out I'm only partially right. For the full review of the Beach Boys' latest, check out the Manik Music site! I am very impressed with what the Boys have given us.

With 8 out of the 12 songs ranging from good to great, thats a solid percentage if you ask me. The great ones? Aside from some cheeseball lyrics, "Spring Vacation" has excellent twists and turns to it. The single "That's Why God Made the Radio" feels like an old hit at this point since its been out for a couple months and it's just fine.

All of the songs dip deep into that great Brian Wilson world of melancholy and loneliness that he is so fond of. If you are a Beach Boys fan, I highly recommend you pick this up. It's not perfect but seriously Go pick it up ASAP! This is an album that is mainly for fans of nostalgia.

I personally cannot get excited about Brian and company guys in their 60's and early 70's singing about cruisin', spring vacation, going steady, dancing the night away etc.

This sort of lyrical content is just lazy and is hardly believable. The guys fare better musically, though too many moments are just retreads of the type of melody that Jimmy Buffett specializes in. The songs that work best are the three that close the album.

With this melancholy mini-suite, the album finally reaches a point of some lyrical depth and musical sophistication. From what I've been reading, these three tracks are not even new. They apparently date back to Brian still had it then, but on the newer stuff Brian and his collaborators don't really seem to be trying. Perhaps if The Beach Boys had spent more time putting the album together--maybe even brought in Van Dyke Parks for assistance with the lyrics--the end result would have been something closer to "wonderful" instead of just "it's okay".
